Concerteenies: The Duck with No Luck

Concerteenies: The Duck with No Luck
Join Concerteenies for the musical story of “The Duck With No Luck”, for children aged 3–7 and their families.
When Dizzy the duck oversleeps and misses the flight South, he knows that he must, somehow, catch his friends up. Unfortunately, Dizzy doesn’t have a good sense of direction. Can anyone help him on his way? Join him as he encounters a mischievous pigeon, a well-meaning parrot, and a hungry vulture… not to mention swampy jungles and a chase into space!
With songs and actions to join in with and a relaxed and friendly environment, this is a perfect introduction to music, animation and storytelling.
Narrator Polly Ives, bassoonist Daria Phillips and pianist Annabelle Lawson combine new music, composed by award-winning Paul Rissmann, and digital animations by Victor Craven, with this much-loved children’s book written by Jonathan Long and illustrated by Korky Paul.
Join us in the foyer before and after the concert for creative activities inspired by the story.
The Duck With No Luck is published by Oxford University Press. This piece was commissioned by Concerteenies (2024) thanks to funding from Arts Council England. Co-created with children and teachers at Barnsley primary schools.
