St Martin’s Voices from St Martin in the Fields, one of the UK’s most versatile professional vocal ensembles are coming to Snape to perform their Summer 2026 production, The Fairest Isle, which will be interspersed with readings by author and Classic FM presenter, Zeb Soanes.
The programme weaves together traditional folk melodies, timeless classics and contemporary compositions that reflect the spirit of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. From Henry Purcell’s ethereal Fairest Isle to the heartfelt laments of My True Love is Parted from Me and the vibrant energy of The Gallant Weaver, each piece invites listeners to explore stories of love, loss and celebration. With arrangements and original works spanning centuries, this concert offers a vivid soundscape that honours the enduring musical traditions and evolving voices of the Isles.
Hosted by the Friends of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, the concert is being held to raise funds needed for works at the west end of the Cathedral including the door and the medieval great window.
The drinks reception is included in the price of the tickets.
