History Festival – Home Ed Day

Monday 23rd May 2026 is a day reserved solely for an Education Day. Of course, you can come on any day we are open, but how much better to have a dedicated day.

Kentwell Through The ages presents aspects of everyday life from any different times in history in pockets across the house and grounds.

Kentwell’s reenactors are not actors, they are expert Living Historians, many with decade of experience and expertise in their chosen periods. Visitors are encouraged to listen, question, help with with tasks and take part in some of the activities. This is learning at its very best.

With the freedom to go anywhere, visitors can take as much or as little time as they choose in any era. The number of historical periods also enables comparison of similarities and differences across the centuries.

As well as increasing historical knowledge and providing excellent fodder for creative writing and reporting, this is an active outdoor day – a breath of fresh air for everyone!

Come as you are – or dress up in the historical era of your choice.

The ultimate day of History Time Travel! This year, we plan to represent many of the following time-periods (and perhaps others too):

Neolithic Hunters • Bronze Age Crafts • Vikings • Saxons • Medieval Cottage • Tudor Domestic Life • 17th Century Music and Dance • Regency Emporium and Military Recruiting Party • Edwardian Adventurers • WWI Services • 1930s film casting • WWII • 1960s Peace Camp • 1970s Happy Campers • 1980s Punks
