Lady Florence
The Lady Florence is a beautifully restored ex-Admiralty Motor Fishing Vessel (MFV) based in Orford, Suffolk. Built with character and history, this fine wooden ship offers an intimate and relaxed cruising experience, accommodating just 12 passengers. With plenty of space both on deck and in the wheelhouse, as well as a comfortable saloon with a coal fire for the winter months, she provides year-round river cruises in warmth and style.
Departing from Orford Quay, the Lady Florence navigates the tranquil waters of the River Alde and Ore, passing through some of Suffolk’s most historically and ecologically significant locations. These cruises offer a unique perspective on the area’s rich maritime past and stunning natural beauty. Passengers can enjoy breathtaking views of Orford Ness, a 10-mile stretch of National Trust-protected shingle spit, famous for its military history and unique landscape. The cruise also includes a circumnavigation of the RSPB’s Havergate Island, a bird sanctuary known for its diverse range of wildlife, including avocets, spoonbills, and seals basking along the riverbanks.
