The Cape Crusaders is a sextet of some of the finest musicians in the UK. They celebrate and share the music, life and legacy of legendary South African pianist and composer, Abdullah Ibrahim.
The sextet is led by British/South African jazz pianist and composer, Pete Letanka. His arrangements of Ibrahim’s compositions will take you on a musical journey from the struggles of the apartheid years to the euphoria of finding common ground and healing.
As an ambassador for Ronnie Scott’s Club, The National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Junior Glyndebourne and The Royal Opera House, Pete Letanka’s charismatic and motivational work is a treasured memory for all who have had the pleasure to be a part of it. This is a welcome return to Southwold Jazz Club for Pete, who brought his trio to the club for a sell-out performance in February 2022.
