The Viola Tunnard Recital: On This Island
Pianist Francesca Lauri, the Viola Tunnard Young Artist, is joined by soprano Madeline Boreham to perform beloved repertoire, including Britten’s evocative “On This Island”.

Francesca Lauri and Madeline Boreham present a deeply personal programme built around their identity as a duo. They offer a selection of songs that reflects their artistic journey as collaborators and close friends. These works, by composers they return to time and again, have accompanied them through transformative moments both on and off the stage.

The recital culminates with Britten’s On This Island, performed in the intimate setting of his library at The Red House. For Francesca this marks a celebration of her voice as a collaborative pianist.

The Viola Tunnard Young Artist award supports a talented collaborative pianist from the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme to further develop their craft, including through residency time at the inspiring surroundings of The Red House. We are delighted to present an afternoon with two hugely exciting young performers.

Each recital will be followed by an opportunity to meet them both and enjoy a glass of prosecco.

There will be two performances of the same recital at 1pm and 4pm.
