Guy Johnston and Melvyn Tan

The superb cellist and pianist join us for a recital that includes Britten’s astonishing Cello Sonata, originally written for Rostropovich, together with Mendelssohn’s passionate second sonata.

We also hear Beethoven’s Sonata No.4, a work which conveys a romantic depth of feeling, and a new work from Matthew Kaner, a composer known for his emotionally direct and poetic music. Guy is joined by acclaimed pianist Melvyn Tan.
