Halesworth & District U3A presents: The Blyth River Blues Band
The Blyth River Blues Band was formed in 2023 from members of Halesworth U3A Guitar Group. Initially designed to play a couple of local music events the band has expanded to playing at venues and festivals all over Suffolk and Norfolk and are now regarded as Suffolk’s Finest Rockin’ Blues Band. The music played is an exhilarating and authentic take on classic Chicago Blues from the 1950’s to the present day, also incorporating Rock’n’Roll, Swamp Rock, Texas Boogie and even some vintage garage and psychedelia. All played with professional level musicality and a deep but humorous understanding of the genres. Artists covered include: B B King, John Lee Hooker, Howling Wolf, Little Walter, Z Z Top, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Winter, J J Cale and many more. The band has had a very successful 2026, playing at events all over the county and are now booking and re-booking into 2027. See our Facebook pages for more information.
