Grimethorpe Colliery Band
Grimethorpe Colliery Band, founded over a century ago in a Yorkshire mining village, achieved its worldwide reputation from the hit film Brassed Off and is regarded as one of Britain’s finest brass bands.
They return to The Apex with a programme of classic brass band repertoire and music from Brassed Off alongside newer works and some entertaining solos.
The band has won numerous band championships and has played in such diverse settings as the FIFA World Cup, BBC Proms, Eurovision, 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and most recently in 2024 played alongside Coldplay as part of their headline set at Glastonbury Festival.
