‘Not every crime’s committed by a criminal’. A Short Gentleman is a crime story set in Aldeburgh, where playwright Jon Canter has lived for over 30 years. It is the tale of a brilliant, pompous, entitled English barrister who commits a crime but can never accept that he’s done anything wrong.
It is adapted from Jon’s novel (‘Witty, accomplished and highly entertaining’ – Mail on Sunday) which was serialised on BBC Radio 4.
It now receives its stage premiere, as a tragicomic one-man play starring Michael Fenton Stevens (Ghosts, Outnumbered, Mr Bean, Only Fools and Horses, The Crown)..
