A haul of recently unearthed Roman gold and silverware, The Hiddenham Hoard, has been stolen whilst in transit to the British Museum! Maud Fiveways of the Hiddenham archaeology society asks her old flame Father Brown for help, as the police have no leads.
Father Brown’s investigations are disrupted by the arrival of Mozzarelli’s Carnival on Hiddenham Common, a collection of motley churls and show girls who hurl him into a whirl of twirly turmoil! How will he find the culprit before the precious Hoard is sold off piecemeal to the highest bidder?
