Flo Redmonds Quartet and Cameron Scott Quintet
Flo Redmonds Quartet and Cameron Scott Quintet
Rising saxophonist Flo Redmonds’ Quartet brings her powerful tone, inventive improvisation and striking technical fluency to the stage. Already singled out by Jazzwise as a “Future Mover” and known for performances at major UK venues alongside leading artists including Cassie Kinoshi and Daniel Casimir, Redmonds continues to carve out a distinctive path through projects ranging from big band work to jazz rock fusion and her own ensembles. Her set promises a vivid, dynamic snapshot of one of the UK’s most exciting young jazz musicians.
The Cameron Scott Quintet are an exciting new ensemble whose unusual horn line-up and fiercely responsive rhythm section create a sound that’s both eclectic and boldly original. Drawing on avant-garde pioneers such as Charles Mingus as well as Scott’s own genre-spanning compositions, the quintet moves effortlessly between intensity and delicacy, with all five musicians stepping forward as compelling voices in their own right.
To close the night, we welcome renowned pianist Steven Osborne for a special late night, 30-minute solo performance. Best known for his acclaimed classical career, this is a unique chance to hear a different side of one of the UK’s finest musicians.
