NASAM - Family Fun Day 2026 - with models and food!
NASAM – Family Fun Day 2026 – with models and food!
The Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum is pleased to be able to host their Annual Family Fun Day on the 9th of August 2026.
Alongside the usual Fun Day activities we’ll be joined by our friends from the Gorleston Model Boat Club who will display a selection of their models while T.E.A.M.S. Meccano will also be exhibiting some of their wonderful creations. We’ll also be joined by Norfolk & Better, a 1,500-acre traditional mixed farm producing high-quality, ethically reared food with full traceability. We’re delighted to hear they’ll be bringing a burger van to the Museum for the occasion!
We’ll publish more detail here nearer the date once the arrangements for the day are confirmed.
The Museum site will be fully open as usual from 10am through to 4pm on the day, with all the aircraft, cockpits and equipment displays, the 446th, Air Sea Rescue, Bomber Command and the refurbished Royal Observer Corps buildings all open to view, and Museum Volunteers on hand to explain the thousands of aviation related items that make up the Museum Collection.
The NAAFI cafe will be open for the serious business of tea (or coffee) and cake, and the shop will be offering a wide range of aviation related goodies to suit all pockets to help you make the most of your day.
We have aeroplanes on display that date from before the war through to the Canberras, Lightnings, and Hunters that have seen service in the RAF in more recent times, not to mention our stunning latest addition, the SEPECAT Jaguar GR1. Across the whole site we have more than 60 aircraft and cockpit sections on display and can often offer access into many of them for photo opportunities. Plus there are flight simulators to have a go in and cockpits to explore! Museum Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and point out some of the features of each aircraft. There really is something to spark everyone’s interest and to keep the whole family entertained for the day.
Well behaved dogs are welcome too, provided they are kept on a lead (but not in the shop please, it gets a bit narrow). We are wheelchair friendly with access to all areas – apart from aircraft cockpits.
Don’t forget that the Museum admission policy has changed – we are no able longer to rely on donations from our Visitors to keep us going but have finally had to opt for admission charges. Details are on the front page of the NASAM website.
We look forward to seeing you there for a really great day…!
