A Christmas Miracle
A Christmas Miracle
A dramatic story of lives that transcend time and generations with much-loved Christmas carols for everyone to sing along with.
Described by the composer as an “all-embracing musical adventure”, A Christmas Miracle sees Britten’s plans for an intergenerational community performance of the Christmas Story come to fruition.
Leading UK singers and instrumentalists are joined by over 80 local performers playing Mary, Ioseph, Iaspar, Elizabeth, Mothers, Midwives, Retinue of the Magi, Knights, Demons, Shepherds, Animals & Chorus as well as backstage, design and production team members, for three performances at Orford’s historic church – where Britten’s visionary community opera Noye’s Fludde was originally premiered.
