Saxons Badminton vs Manchester Hive

Saxons Badminton are the Ipswich-based professional badminton team who are delighted to kick-off their new season as Champions with the National Badminton League trophy in their hands in front of their passionate home fans. The stylish trophy will be on display at this match.

After last season’s success, the Saxons have kept almost the whole of their NBL squad together, underlining the great team spirit which was generated through last season’s high profile title-winning experience.

Saxons will be led once more by international coach & former Olympian, Anthony Clark and this season’s Captain, Leona Lee, very ably supported by Callum Hemming (European Mixed Silver Medalist), Lisa Curtin and other young players who are raising their playing profiles through the high-octane NBL format as they strive for recognition and potential Olympic qualification. Local players Brandon Yap, Chloe Dennis and Kayleigh Williams will be an integral part of the Saxons’ squad once more as they defend their title.

The new season promises to get off with a BIG BANG against Manchester Hive with their new management structure led by Gail Emms, former Olympian and international star with a strong playing squad representing the newcomers to NBL.
