Kleio Quartet

Fresh and engaging, Nielsen’s quartet crowns this concert from the Kleio Quartet, who are rapidly making a name for themselves as one of the most exciting young string quartets on the scene, with recent appearances at the Wigmore Hall and Edinburgh International Festival.  

Haydn’s String Quartet No.74 was the very first written not for a rich patron, but for the public, Haydn heightening the dramatic weight of the work for its performance in larger spaces. Puccini, more known for his operatic works, is here represented by the intensely poignant Crisantemi.
